Analysis of the Current Status of Digital Technology Application in Prefabricated Buildings Based on Bibliometrics.

Based on 267 research papers on the application of digital technology in prefabricated buildings from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Web of Science (WOS) databases, a bibliometric method was used to conduct in-depth analysis and summary of relevant research at home and abroad, revealing the current status and hotspots of research on the application of digital technology in prefabricated buildings. Research has shown that the application of BIM, Internet of Things, and 3D laser scanning technology is a focus of attention for scholars both domestically and internationally, while research on the application of other technologies is still in the exploratory stage. In addition, in terms of the specific application of digital technology, the research on the application of digital technology in the management and deepening design stage of prefabricated buildings is also a key concern for scholars at home and abroad..

This article is based on CNKI and WOS databases, conducts a quantitative analysis of research literature on the application of digital technology in prefabricated buildings, draws a knowledge graph, and elaborates on the current research status of digital technology application in prefabricated buildings at home and abroad. The following conclusions are drawn:.
(1) From the distribution of literature time, the number of publications on the application of digital technology in prefabricated buildings both domestically and internationally shows a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. Foreign related research is earlier than domestic research, but the peak time of foreign research lags behind domestic research; The years with more research achievements in domestic and foreign literature are from 2020 to 2022. Although there has been a certain decrease in the number of literature since then, the annual publication volume is still above 18, indicating that the application research of digital technology in prefabricated buildings still maintains a certain level of popularity. From the perspective of author collaboration, foreign scholars have a close relationship and formed a certain scale of collaborative groups. Although domestic scholars have formed a certain number of collaborative groups, the number of co authored literature between them is relatively small. From the overall distribution of institutions, the main force of research both domestically and internationally is universities. From the perspective of publishing countries, China has the highest number of publications, while the other countries with higher publication volumes are the United States and Australia..
(2) In terms of digital technology itself, BIM is the earliest digital technology applied to prefabricated buildings. Research on the application of BIM technology in prefabricated buildings is relatively mature both domestically and internationally, and the research results are relatively rich. In addition to BIM technology, there are differences in the application research of digital technology both domestically and internationally. Domestic research focuses on the application of Internet of Things, blockchain, and 3D laser scanning technology in prefabricated buildings, while foreign research focuses on the application of Internet of Things technology, cloud computing technology, 3D laser scanning, digital twins, 3D printing, and blockchain technology. Overall, research on the application of digital technology in other categories is still in the exploratory stage, and there are relatively few research results.
