Case study of insulation design for precast container houses
Precast modular detachable container houses are mainly composed of top tire frame beams, bottom tire frame beams, box corners, L-shaped corner columns, energy-saving sandwich panels, door and window devices, electrical devices, and water supply and drainage devices.
The top tire frame beam, bottom tire frame beam, box corner, and L-shaped corner column are usually made of cold-formed steel plates, and the panels are made of sandwich insulation boards (metal VAP+rock wool).
The thermal performance of the wall is R-49 (USA), of which rock wool has been determined to be 50mm, and the thickness and arrangement of the metal VAP have been trial designed.
