Vigorously develop precast buildings to solve the problem of urban construction waste disposal
“Precast construction is an important measure for the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, which helps to improve the construction level and quality.” Zhou Caizhi, director of the Construction Management Office of Wuhan Urban Construction Bureau, said that compared with the traditional construction method, precast buildings were precast in the factory and “assembled” at the site, which significantly reduced the amount of dust, noise and sewage generated by on-site operations, greatly improved the efficiency of energy resource utilization, and achieved significant environmental protection benefits, meeting the overall requirements of “waste free cities” to improve the quality of the ecological environment and enhance the fine management level of urban construction.
In 2020, Wuhan was rated as a national model city of precast buildings.
Since 2017, a total of 33.745 million square meters of precast buildings have been constructed in Wuhan.
With the continuous improvement of urban construction quality, the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry is urgent.
One project has been awarded national level, nine projects have been awarded provincial level, and 85 projects have been awarded municipal level demonstration projects, setting a benchmark for the construction industry.
There are 5 assembly type construction industry bases in the city that have become national demonstration sites and 9 bases that have become provincial demonstration sites, creating favorable conditions for the large-scale development of assembly type buildings and laying a solid foundation for the industrialization, greening and digital transformation of buildings in Wuhan.
Wuhan proposed to promote the industrialization of new buildings focusing on precast buildings.
The huge amount of construction waste is a difficult problem for solid waste treatment in urban development.
Next, Wuhan will take the opportunity to promote the construction of a “waste free city” and apply for a national intelligent construction city, further strengthen the promotion of precast buildings, promote the coordinated development of the city’s new building industrialization and intelligent construction, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the city’s construction industry to be “industrialized, green and digital”…
In 2020, the state put forward higher requirements for the development of precast buildings, clearly proposing that precast buildings should be used as the carrier to promote the coordinated development of new building industrialization and intelligent construction.
