【 Hong436 Lecture 】 Cement Pavement/Water Stabilized Base Micro Crack Homogenization Regeneration and Engineering Cases

Next, let’s walk into the “Rainbow” Lecture Hall of this issue and learn about the technologies and engineering cases related to micro crack homogenization regeneration! On the evening of March 23rd, the 436th lecture of the “Rainbow” School, sponsored by the Graduate School/Graduate Work Department, undertaken by the Highway College, and co organized by the Graduate Science and Technology Association of the university, was successfully held in the Bosheng Lecture Hall of the East Campus of the South Campus.

Under the action of water and load, it will still generate road bed water accumulation and interlayer voids, and the construction joints generated by excavation are prone to secondary diseases.

Traditional treatment techniques have shortcomings, therefore, how to thoroughly eradicate road surface diseases has become a challenge for highway maintenance personnel.

In the early stage, semi rigid base asphalt pavement often suffers from diseases such as cracking, pumping, voids, and insufficient local strength under driving loads.

Wu Chaofan’s report mainly includes the following five parts: (1) Asphalt pavement diseases and traditional renovation technologies; (2) Principle of micro crack homogenization regeneration treatment technology for semi rigid base of asphalt pavement; (3) Practice and engineering cases of micro crack homogenization regeneration treatment technology for semi rigid base of asphalt pavement; (4) Cement pavement diseases and traditional renovation technologies; (5) Principle and Engineering Case 1 of Homogenization Treatment Technology for Micro Cracks in Cement Pavement: Asphalt Pavement Diseases and Traditional Renovation Technology.

If the disease is not treated in a timely manner, it will rapidly develop into blocky cracks under the influence of natural factors such as rainwater.

Therefore, traditional treatment techniques can only delay the development of diseases, treating the symptoms rather than the root cause
.

Under the dual influence of heavy traffic and natural factors, the road surface is prone to a large number of diseases such as cracking, block cracking, potholes, transverse and longitudinal cracks, and subsidence, seriously affecting the performance of the road surface and driving comfort.

The traditional treatment technology is excavation and replacement or adding an asphalt concrete layer, but this method is only limited to surface repair.

The water stabilized base micro crack homogenization treatment technology relies on the visual maintenance platform of the road surface, transforming the semi rigid base into a permanent pavement structure layer, providing a new choice for efficiently solving pavement diseases and improving highway traffic capacity.

Wu Chaofan, Senior Engineer of Xi’an Changda Highway Maintenance Technology Co., Ltd., gave a report titled “Cement Pavement/Water Stabilized Base Micro Crack Homogenization Regeneration and Engineering Cases”, with over 150 teachers and students from relevant colleges participating.
