The shutdown time of the cement industry in 2023 has been extended again!
The Hunan Cement Association issued a notice on adding 5 days of staggered kiln shutdown in the second quarter of 2023, stating that in the first and second quarters, an additional 5 days of staggered kiln shutdown time will be added to the original 35 days.
In the second quarter of last year, Guizhou required an additional 5 days of shut down time for staggered production on top of the 40 days of staggered production, which is 45 days.
Nowadays, due to factors such as market demand not meeting expectations, low enterprise shipments, and environmental protection, some regions are requesting another extension of peak shifting time.
In recent years, the staggered production time has continued to increase and the scope has continued to expand, especially in 2022.
The increase in staggered production time in various regions has been significant, and the execution efforts have also been stronger than before This is the ninth year since the cement industry began trial production of staggered peaks in the winter of 2014.
Units that did not shut down the kiln in the first quarter will be shut down in the second quarter, that is, 40 days+N days (additional shutdown days).
At the end of March, Inner Mongolia Cement Association issued the Notice on Organizing clinker Enterprises in Central and Western China to Delay Kiln Start, saying that, according to the current situation of large clinker inventory of most enterprises, the kiln start was delayed for one month.
This year, it has increased by 15 days.
According to market feedback, enterprises in Guizhou planned to shut down kilns for 60 days in the second quarter of last year.

The peak shift range is all clinker production lines (including carbide slag and collaborative disposal of hazardous waste) in the central and western regions.
The delayed kiln start period is from April 1st to April 30th.
