The Education and Examination Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), also known as the Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center for the Electronic Communication Industry, was established in 1993.

It was formed by the merger of three units: the former Education Center of the Ministry of Electronics, the Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center for the Electronic Industry, and the former Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center for the Communication Industry of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.

It is a directly affiliated institution of the MIIT.

The center is a member unit of the Talent Work Leading Group of the Ministry, the leader unit of the Examination and Evaluation Group of the Information and Innovation Commission, a national demonstration platform for public services for small and medium-sized enterprises, and a national continuing education base for professional and technical personnel.

It undertakes the work responsibilities of the Ministry’s Vocational Skills Enhancement Action Office, the National Industrial and Information Technology Skills Competition Office, and the Secretariat Office of the National Industrial and Information Vocational Education Teaching Guidance Committee.
